About Wicker park
Another neighborhood that burgeoned after the Great Chicago Fire, Wicker Park is now
widely recognized amongst locals as the most hipster neighborhood in the city. In fact,
Forbes declared Wicker Park the 4th “hippest” hipster neighborhood in the United
States.
The infamous 606 trail stretches throughout this neighborhood as well as giving visitors
views of Humboldt Park, Bucktown, and Logan Square. The 2.7-mile-long trail is a
repurposed elevated train track for people seeking a little outdoor recreation.
At the center of the neighborhood is the Six Corners – the intersections of Damen,
Milwaukee, and North Avenues. Here you will find an array of vintage thrift stores,
record shops, coffee houses, bookstores, and bustling eateries. Nightlife is the
cornerstone of this neighborhood with its late-night clubs, speakeasies, and music
venues. During the summertime, Wicker Park boasts numerous street festivals that
feature a variety of food, live music, and arts and crafts.
