About Streeterville
Originally the dumping place for the cleanup process that followed the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Streeterville is a completely man-made neighborhood filled with lots to do and has become one of the most sought-after places to live in downtown Chicago.
Streeterville, one of Chicago’s smaller neighborhoods, is the “gateway” to Navy Pier. The pier is one of Chicago’s most popular attractions. It is full of incredible lake front views, sightseeing boats and bicycles, amusement rides, gift shops and restaurants. The pier also houses its own beer garden, the Chicago Children’s Museum, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the summer
fireworks shows.
The neighborhood also boasts several other great features, including, many restaurants, local businesses, Garrett’s Popcorn, access to the lake front trail, Ohio Street Beach, the Riverwalk, the Magnificent Mile, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and several small city parks including the new Bennett Park near the southeastern edge of Streeterville.
